A clasp formation (掌位 shoui) is a maneuver performed by Gardes in order to boost their collective speed. Each Garde will cross their arms over the other in front of them and grasp their neighbors' hands, locking the units together. The most common configuration seen is groups of four, though there is no upper limit on the amount of Gardes in the formation, most notably seen in the 256-Garde clasp formation used to rescue Nagate Tanikaze and Shizuka Hoshijiro when they had been stranded.
