Gauna 492 was the 492nd Gauna encountered by Sidonia. This Gauna showed the ability to blend itself into stellar gas through the use of its placenta. Gauna 492 also had the ability to absorb Heigus Particle Cannon shots. In order to defeat the Gauna, Tanikaze was forced to have its arm eaten to provide protection from recoil, using a ballistic gun to isolate and expose the True Body, which was then destroyed by a Kabizashi.
