The third season of Knights of Sidonia is the continuation of the anime series of Tsutomu Nihei's sci-fi manga, following the 2014 and 2015 ones. It presumably went into production sometime in 2017, when the Director Hiroyuki Seshita announced it[1][2] and a Blame! film sequel in June 2017 at the International Anime Festival in Annecy, France with Polygon Pictures' Godzilla anime, but was never confirmed to be a full third season series.
News in early July 2020 suggests a film (Knights of Sidonia: The Star Where Love is Spun) will be released instead in 2021 and there may not be a 3rd season.[3][4]
